Scope of work

Approved for Finals Only Permit for Building Inspection by Christopher Wren, previous permit New permit to replace expired permit # . Removal of load bearing column from basement storage space (formerly a garage before 2014 remodel). The load bearing column will be replaced by wrapping the existing (3) 2x12s wood support beam with 2 steel C12x25 channel beams (per structural engineer). The existing load bearing column on the exterior end of wood beam sits on foundation stem wall and is sufficiently capable for increased load. The other existing load bearing column towards the center of the house will need to have footing size confirmed and potentially increased per structural engineer. The submitted structural design and calculations were performed in Jan 2021. The architectural plans are originally from our 2014 renovation project which was completed under Bellevue permit and they provide overview of the existing structure that was not modified during the 2014 renovation. The existing structure is the area where this work will occur.
